Today on International #Dayofthegirl let's pay tribute to all girls! Here at the Missing Children’s Network, our team continuously works through our SHINE program in preventing sexual exploitation among youth, especially young girls.
We focus on prevention and believe that self-esteem and healthy egalitarian relationships are among the many solutions to this crisis. "Girls: a free and unstoppable force" - United Nations Last week, members of our staff participated, along with several other organizations, in “Rendez-vous Maillage”, which took place at the YWCA Montreal. This meeting aimed to exchange views and find solutions to prevent sexual exploitation. By collaborating and joining hands, we can work together to solve this issue.
A special thanks to our partners at the YWCA, for citing and acknowledging our expertise on this matter.
At the request of the SPVQ and Gabriel Pineau’s family, the Missing Children’s Network is seeking your collaboration in the search for 19 year-old Gabriel. The last time Gabriel was seen, he was in the parking lot of the Francheville soccer field, near Saint-Anne Boulevard, in Beauport, Québec. Last seen August 30th 2019.
Today is World Mental Health Day and the Missing Children’s Network invites you to join us in raising awareness about this issue. Many teenagers that run away suffer from mental health issues. Sadly, this subject is unfortunately still taboo.
We need to break the silence. Let’s take a stand and speak up!
As parents, always keep the door of communication open and let your teens know they are not alone. Resources are available and within reach . As a friend, family member or loved one ... you are not alone either.
