Keeping Hope Alive – International Missing Children’s Day

MONTRÉAL, May 25, 2022 —The theme for this year’s Missing Children’s Month was Hope Blooms.

Throughout the month, the Missing Children’s Network worked diligently to raise awareness about the plight of missing children and sensitize the public about the importance of keeping children safe in today’s digital world.

We tribute to missing children by highlighting one long-term unresolved case, per day, on our social media platforms. As well, weekly safety tips were posted, and followers were invited to share these important messages aimed at preventing child victimization.  We also hosted two important sessions for youth-serving professionals and law enforcement on the prevention of runaways and sexual exploitation of minors.

On May 25th, National Missing Children’s Day, we welcomed families at our offices for a special and intimate evening of hope. It marked the first gathering since May 2019!

We wish to warmly thank all those who helped make this year’s National Missing Children’s Month another memorable occasion:

  • En Marge 12-17 and Montreal Police, Les Survivantes program for their participation in our Prevention of Runaways and Sexual Exploitation virtual conference.
  • Global Montreal who graciously aired a rollcall of all our missing children cases following their news casts on May 25th.
  • IKEA, I-Nov Concept and Délice Pigalle for making our Evening of Hope a special occasion for our searching families.
  • Over 1,000 of our followers who shared our daily posts and annual poster on social media!

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for keeping missing children in your hearts!
