Do you know what a Parental Abduction is?
Abduction : Parental abduction involves the child’s removal or retention in violation of custody rights under a judgment, an agreement between parents, or application of legislation. An abduction may also occur in the course of proceedings regarding custody and may prevent the execution of the judgment. The abducted child may be taken:
- elsewhere in Quebec;
- to another Canadian jurisdiction;
- to a foreign country.
Abduction is committed with the intent of depriving the other parent of their right of custody or access.
